FAQ

Common questions

My child is shy — will they be okay?

Very common, and completely fine. Teachers stay close, and we teach with the studio door open so you're never far away.

What age can we start?

Age 3, as long as your child is comfortable in a room without you. Our Sparks classes are built exactly for that first step.

Do we need experience?

Never. Dancers join with zero experience at every age, including teens. Company placement is the one exception — that's by audition.

Can I watch class?

We teach with the door open, so you can watch from the lobby.

When does the season start?

We run year-round with one week off each month, and the new season kicks off right after Labor Day. You can join at any point in the year.

What if we miss a class?

If we have to cancel — weather, teacher illness, anything on our end — the make-up class is scheduled during your dancer's off-week, not in the same week. If your dancer misses on their own, they're welcome to drop into another class that's already on the schedule.

Is competition required?

Not at all. Plenty of our dancers take class for years just for fun. Company details live on the Company page.

How do I reach Carrie?

Text 864-362-4810 — it's a cell phone, and texting is far faster than calling or emailing since we're usually teaching. You can also email themovementcompanysc@gmail.com.
